Body Integration

Prompt: Body integration. This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present?

I honestly cannot think of a good time beyond the occasional ride during my horseback lessons. I have had constant reminders of things I think I can do that I can no longer do.

The fact is I have gained a ton of weight in the last two years. I do not feel fat or see myself as fat most of the time so I think I can do things and go out and do things with my body that it no longer wants to do. I have had several embarrassing reminders this year that my body has a bit of a disconnect from what I “think” I should be able to do and what I really can do.

One of my goals for the coming year is to be more active in all ways. I want to become more coordinated and <cough>thinner<cough>, along with becoming more confident that I am fit enough to do what I want to do on short notice.
