Writing Conference

This weekend I’m at the Saga Writing Conference in North Carolina.

For me a lot of learning to write and sell books is also learning how to talk about book and present them cold to random people. As an introvert (INTJ) I struggle with talking to strangers on a good day, throwing me at a group of random authors is terrifying. But as with everything it takes practice and does get better with time.

Part of learning the writing world for me is a commitment to attend at least one conference a year and talk to everyone I can make myself approach. Having a friend who is willing to get you into conversations is a wonderful support system and most writers have been there and are willing to help those learning if you are willing to listen and ask for honest help.
