How do you make a difference in the World?

Are small acts enough? Does not working at the soup kitchen or reading to the elderly matter if you contribute in other ways? How about being pleasant to the people who are rude or mean to you, not taking out your bad day on the people around you. Doing your job diligently and well, pushing yourself to spend time with family and friends, appreciating the small acts of kindness in your day and brushing off the bad ones, savoring your day because you are alive, healthy and working?
