I found this quote and love it. It matches what I am striving for this year exactly.

William Butler Yeats. “Happiness,” wrote Yeats, “is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that, but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing.”

I think everyone strives to grow into a better person. After all why would be call it “bettering ourselves” if we did not believe this?
