Getting Ready for NaNoWriMo

October for me is always the ramp up for National Novel Writing Month.

I have been at least attempting NaNoWriMo for the last ten years. The first year I managed to complete the 50,000 words was the very rough start to my first novel, The Mage's Daughter. Since then I have written dozens of other drafts and several books I hope to publish in the coming years.

This year is going to be strange not to be going to the cafes and library to meet my writer friends. We will be online and using our discord and Facebook group mostly this year. We accept writers from all over if anyone is interested.

With the chaos that is the world right now it can be nice to lose yourself in fiction. I've been reading a lot this year but am slowly starting to replace that time with writing. I'm trying a new quarterly approach to planing out my writing and starting Monday we have 12 weeks left in the year.

I have two books I hope to self publish this fall and I've started looking at submitting poetry and short stories again.

What are your writing goals for the end of the year?
