I keep an “out box” sitting somewhere in my house that I use to hold random junk that I find as I clean that I can say “I have no idea why I am still keeping this!”. In the box it goes and around a month later it is taken to the goodwill or when the box fills up, whichever happens first. I have been doing this since I lived with my parents with every posession I own stuffed into one room.

Now that I have my own home I have more room for things to take over and collect dust. I started dusting the downstairs last night and got rather put out by the amount of knickknacks I had to move around to do it. I am trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of. Most of the harder to get rid of items are collections that have been given to me as gifts. I love them but honestly no longer want to collect the things. Do I toss them or move them somewhere where they can be displayed and I wont have to dust them constantly?

When do you decide that you have just enough possessions or too many?

I just got back from the only Genre Fiction writing conference in the Southeastern United States. I had an amazing time and cannot wait for next year. I have a ton of notes and books to read and learn
