Be who you are.
Be who you are. The biggest lie you will ever hear.
No one wants you to be who you are. They want you to conform to who they think you are and should be.
Don’t believe me? Change something. Some small thing you are known for doing. Instantly the comments start, Why did you change, why try something new when you had Blank and were fine? We all loved when you used to do Blank.
No one wants to be around a loner either. Why would you want to hang out with someone who is uncomfortable in large groups of people. Who often is unable to say the polite lies that bind society together and instead says the truth as she sees it. Why would you want to be around someone who care more about what she is reading or writing then about her clothes or what her hair looks like.
No one wants to be around someone who is nervous. Who wants to be around someone who worries about social obligations and never knowing what to say to people, afraid that it will be taken wrong as it often is. Who picks at her hands till every finger bleeds and manically cleans her house while writing books scenes in her head. Who makes changes to her life but no one else seems to approve of or support. Who is trying to improve her life while watching everyone else drudge through their daily routines never once looking up.
It hurts too much to try and be myself within the box everyone wants me to reside in.
